In the craziness of EcoLiving earlier this month, my computer skills failed me, and this post was not published as intended! Expect an update this post, and current state of my Eco-Leadership grant soon.
The Fulbright Canada-RBC Eco-Leadership Program provides small grants to current grantees and alumni of the Fulbright Canada program to partner with local organizations in order to make a significant positive environmental impact in their community. I am fortunate enough to be one of those grantees! A.k.a. a Fulbright Canada-RBC Eco-Leader 😉
I have been awarded this Eco-Leadership grant to pilot a composting program at Red Deer College (known locally as RDC). Working with ReThink Red Deer, we are installing three community-sized Joracan composters on campus to recycle cafeteria and catering food waste. These composters are going to be delivered and assembled at the EcoLiving Fair at Red Deer College on March 12. The Joracan director will even be hosting a workshop to educate participants about composting. The EcoLiving Fair will make for an exciting kick off to an awesome project.
Thank you Fulbright Canada and Royal Bank of Canada for making this possible! I am so excited to work with the Red Deer College community and start up this great programming!
